When I venture out into nature I'm always looking for details that pique my interest, then I have to decide how to photograph those natural elements in order to capture their essence. In an era when most photographers seem to want to give their work the 4K television screen treatment, where every detail is sharply focused and colorful, I take a more impressionistic approach, in which the out-of-focus areas of a photograph become as important as the sharply delineated. I think it works beautifully.
