PRAIRIE IMPRESSIONS: Speeding through North Dakota
I was speeding across the Great Plains on Amtrak’s Empire Builder, on my way from Chicago to Seattle. It was late summer, and the passing plains were an enchanting patchwork of greens and warm browns, as crops thrived and fresh plowing prepared the land for winter wheat. I experimented with different shutter speeds to try and get the impressionistic feeling that motion blur can give, and I was really pleased with this photograph–my favorite of the day.
