WALKING HOME FROM SCHOOL IN A BLIZZARD
Amish children are tough, often walking to and from school in fierce weather conditions. In this photograph, the girls were in their heavy woolen cloaks and bonnets, happily walking together through a blizzard. The boys were walking separately in the distance.
The Amish way of life is comparable to that of much of rural America during the latter half of the 19th century, and the people lead happy and productive lives without succumbing to the temptations of cell phones and televisions and high-stress careers.
