The ghost town of Thurmond, West Virginia, near the New River Gorge, contains classic old brick buildings from a time long gone. A coaling tower from the old days of steam railroads still stands. I love the way some places from a hundred or more years ago have been preserved, almost as if time stood still. For a moment, we can place ourselves in the distant past.
