STORIES IN WEATHERED PIGMENT
There is a small feed store and grain elevator along an abandoned railroad grade in a tiny Michigan town. Sometimes I have seen Amish wagons picking up animal feed, but there have been several changes of ownership in the last few years as small town farm businesses struggle against the corporate giants and the business was vacant when I took this picture in March of 2021.
It was a clear day, and I was entranced by the layers of vivid color and weathered texture on this old wooden sliding door. It provided a sunny counterpoint to the story of struggle and loss.
