SHADOWS ON THE SNOW
I love winter because snow lends a simplicity to the landscape, removing competing textures and colors that my mind perceives as clutter. Would this photograph be as effecting, in color, with tree shadows crossing the snow? No. And black and white is the perfect medium for capturing the graphic nature of winter. Trees and snow. Snow and trees. My mind endlessly searches for the possibilities.
