NEW LIFE
I was driving past an Amish barn in winter, when this sight made me put on the brakes and back up for a photograph. The barn door was open, revealing a young lamb with its mother watching over the youngster. Nature’s rhythms: with stories of a new generation and the responsibility of motherhood and the recognition of “cuteness” as a deep-seated human emotion. All creatures great and small are linked by DNA and the eternal rhythms of life. And what, after all, is cuter than a new lamb?
