AN ENCHANTING MOONLIT NIGHT

When the moon is full and the night is warm, I love getting out to do night photography. For this photograph, I was camped along Rune Lake in The Enchantments at the peak of autumn, when the Alpine Larches were flaming gold. I set up my camera on a tripod on this breezy night, and illuminated the foreground larches with my headlamp. Moonlight lit the granite and lake in the background. I like the juxtaposition of the starry sky with the beautiful colors of a mountain autumn.
