LONELY PRAIRIE SCULPTURE
While traveling along Route 66 heading east through Texas, I came upon this classic old grain elevator near the village of Groom. It is one of those wonderfully sculptural structures used to store grain. From here, grain would have been shipped to market via train. In this picture, the dramatic clouds overhead completed the feeling of art on the high plains.
