SLEEK AND RUSTIC
What could be a better expression of design than the sleek hull of a sailboat, designed for speed and maneuverability? In this photograph I contrast the sleekness of the recreational sailboat with the rustic qualities of the boathouses at the Port of Shelton’s Oakland Bay Marina. Shelton is a rustic town in itself, with the rugged heritage of lumbering and transportation on Puget Sound. It ain’t quaint! Yet I find it more interesting than the slick, wealthy towns that are more common on Puget Sound.
On this November morning the mist was rising from Puget Sound, shrouding the background in mystery. It was simply magical.
