River Riffles

Brush strokes of gold and blue dancing across the frame--that's what I envisioned when I took this photograph of standing waves on Michigan's Presque Isle River. On this sunlit autumn day, the light from golden birches and a deep blue sky reflected off the moving river. A long exposure feathers the hard edges of the current, lending a dreamy and atmospheric impression of moving water.
