WATER COLOR 15:
Molten gold

Michigan's Upper Peninsula is a place where autumn colors, in the best years, are wonderfully sublime. On this day I wandered along the banks of the Presque Isle River, located in the Porcupine Mountains. Sunlight burned through the golden leaves of paper birch, and the reflected color made the river seem to glow from within. The blue streaks are reflections from the blue sky in shaded patches of the river. Oh for more golden autumn days like that one!
