Spring Greens
The Ozark Mountains feature some of the most beautiful wild rivers in America. These rivers meander beneath limestone bluffs and are partly fed by springs emerging from the limestone. Some of these springs are a deep opalescent blue reminiscent of the glacial lakes of the Canadian Rockies. I photographed this Sycamore tree overhanging Alley Spring, one of the wonderfully blue Ozark springs. The combination of the bright green Sycamore leaves, forest shadows, and blue spring made for an interesting and graceful color composition. It gives me a feeling of the rich exuberance of spring and early summer in the ancient Ozarks. Location: Alley Spring, Ozark National Scenic Riverways, Missouri, USA Lee Rentz |
