LIFE IN AN ICY LAND
In this photograph I came closest–of all my 6,000 Antarctic photos–to capturing the essence of Antarctica. With penguins, icebergs, glaciers, mountains draped with snow and ice, and the cold Antarctic Ocean, I think you can see the wonder of this frigid continent.
The Gentoo Penguins, just emerged from the sea, are waddling back to their nesting colony, where they will relieve their mates from the duty of sitting on the eggs.
The Antarctic experience was a wondrous highlight of my life, and I recommend it to anyone who wishes to see some of the wildest places on our planet.
