FALLEN MAPLE LEAVES

I love the crunch of autumn leaves underfoot, and the crisp scent of dry leaves mingled with moist earth. It is a season for the senses, and most of all sight. The translucent colors are rich crimson and yellow and orange–a spectrum of warmth in a season when we know that the cool colors of blues and grays and whites will dominate. I arranged this photograph against a white background as a rich memory of the season of color.
