ALASKAN TUNDRA
We were in a battered Alaskan bush plane, flying a bumpy route from Dillingham to the remote Eskimo village of Togiak. As we passed over the land of Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, this classic Alaskan view appeared below, with its major river snaking out of the mountains and headed toward the sea. This is tundra, where Caribou and Moose and Brown Bears and Wolves stage their epic battles for life, and all this was in my mind as we flew over the magnificent landscape.
