LOON REFLECTIONS
Loons are spirits of the north country, with those eerie calls and yodels that echo off the cliffs and conifers of the lakes where they court and mate and lay eggs and raise their young. It is always a pleasure to see them, and here on Beaver Lake are some of the few loons that nest on Washington State. According to a sign on the waterfront, there are none nesting in Idaho, Oregon, or California any more. Long may they thrive here.
