UNDER THE DOME OF NIGHT
I set the alarm for 12:30 a.m. after crawling into the sleeping bag early, and I actually had the gumption to get up and work with my camera for over an hour. It was magical! This was one of those places that is so far away from everything human that the stars and the milky way looked close enough to touch. It helped that the moon was in its new phase and even that hadn’t risen yet.
I decided to work with a fisheye lens so I could get an enormous 180 degree landscape; the green area on the lower left is where I illuminated the meadow with a headlamp.
