WATER COLOR 50: SNOW LAKE
We did a late summer hike to Snow Lake, which sits close to Snoqualmie Pass on Interstate 90 about an hour east of Seattle, making it a popular portal into the wilderness. The lake is a gorgeous aquamarine color and sits along a rocky shoreline lined with Mountain Hemlock trees. The first autumn color was appearing and the red berries of Mountain Ash trees were striking against the blue sky. But the highlight for me was photographing the wind-rippled surface of the lake, which was so clear that the big rocks were clearly visible on the bottom.
