In Iceland, many of the people believe that there are Elves and Trolls and other beings living among them. In fact, there are cases where roads have been rerouted to avoid passing through the favored haunts of these beings. There are stories passed down from generation to generation of people being saved by Elves and returning to the human world changed by the experience.
The nearest I can understand Elves is that they live among us, but in an alternative universe, where only occasionally is there an overlap that allows us to see each other.
This worn wooden building struck me as being a suitable Elf house.
