While driving through Yellowstone National Park in May, there was one location near a high pass where a jumble of huge rocks provided a bit of space for conifers to thrive. I took note of this place, but didn’t take any pictures the first day. Upon return two days later, the rocks and trees were shrouded in low clouds, so I walked among the rocks, camera in hand, and captured the ethereal scene. This photograph particularly appealed to me, with its sense of mystery and depth.
