This log cabin, originally built over 100 years ago by the Canadian Pacific Railway as a way to attract tourists to one of the grandest places in North America, is now a hikers’ hut. The Elizabeth Parker Hut is run by the Alpine Club of Canada, and I have been fortunate enough to stay there for some wonderful September days on three occasions. It is especially wonderful when there is fresh snow on the landscape–and when a Grizzly Bear wanders by right next to the cabin!
