We chose to visit Iceland in March because we wanted to see the Aurora Borealis and venture inside glacial ice caves. Both experiences were spectacular, but so was the wonderful snow-covered landscape of mountains and fjords of the Westfjords region of this remote nation. For this photograph, I loved the white concrete house with the red roof sitting in snow alongside the vivid blue fjord. I could imagine living in and loving the solitude of that place.
