When we are inside, windows are our eyes on the outsde world. and sometimes they almost seem to be looking back at us. When I took this picture, I thought this attic looked eerie–as if I had unexpectedly stumbled into Stephen King's attic, or perhaps the attic of his character Carrie. Fortunately, the reality is less chilling; I'm sure that generations of children were lovingly raised in this house, and that this attic location was once a kind of dormitory for all the kids a farm family needed. There was undoubtedly a lot of laughter here.
