WATER COLOR 24: Go with the Flow

One of my favorite places to photograph is located in a remote corner of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Ottawa National Forest includes vast forest lands studded with lakes and dissected by wild trout streams. Bond Falls, located on the Middle Branch of the Ontonagon River, is one of the legendary places where photographers gather, coming from all over the Midwest for the chance to capture autumn maples reflected in the rapids.

On this day, the Red Maples weren't cooperating, but there were some lovely reflections of green trees playing among the riffles. Using a long exposure that smooths out the water surface, I captured this photograph that shows a bit of the magic that is Bond Falls.
