FARMSTEAD IN WINTER

I had previously photographed this barn in summer, when the graceful green maples nearly obscured the classic barn. But it really caught my eye in January, when the leaves were off the Sugar Maples and the branches wove an intricate tapestry against the pale winter sky. The snow simplifies the scene, cutting out everything but the essential, so that it becomes a work of art.
