A compelling photograph is an insight into the soul of planet Earth, with a power to renew the sense of wonder and intensify the thrill of being alive
When I think of the famous Robert Frost poem, “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening,” I envision exactly what I captured in this photograph. The Amish buggy is heading home at the end of a long day, and the snow is falling heavily in fat flakes. Except that this is almost 100 years after Frost wrote his masterpiece in 1922. So much has changed in America that Frost’s world seems like a very long time ago, but the Amish keep that world alive through their religious traditions. This was an unforgettable sight for me, with my forever love of Frost’s poem.
