SOUTHWARD BOUND

On a magical winter evening I was driving northward along Michigan's own Route 66, winding my way through small rural towns on a late winter afternoon under cloudy skies. Just as I reached the town of Six Lakes, the setting sun suddenly flashed out from under a cloud layer, illuminating the landscape in golden light. Then a V of Canada Geese moved into the frame, just to add a touch of magic.
