DEEP TWILIGHT PORTAL
In Michigan and some other places, the barns are mostly painted a traditional red color. But the entrance to the barn is painted in a contrasting white arch. I looked into the reason why they were painted this way, and it appears that when a farmer was returning late from the fields on his tractor or with his team of horses, the white arch made it easier to see the entrance to the barn in the dark. The explanation makes practical sense, which is why I gave the photograph its name. More important to me: I love the graphic quality of the photograph that works well as a colorful design.
