BAND ON THE RUN

I see Amish draft horses every time I drive through the farm country where we make our winter home. If I stop, the horses often trot over to me to say hello. I spoke with a farmer plowing his fields last year with a team of four Belgian horses, and he said his horses love to work. Every farmer gives them plenty of breaks in the field so that they don’t become too tired.

When I took this picture it was snowing and the horses appeared to be running across the pasture just for the joy of it!
