FREE AS THE WIND

Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota features Bison Pronghorns, Mule Deer, White-tailed Deer, and Wild Horses. On our November visit, the Wild Horses were the stars, going about their business of grazing and socializing with each other in several bands. I noticed that when the band leader got too far ahead, the others would run to keep up with the herd. I took advantage of this observation, and was ready each time the horses ran, using a photographic technique that shows the motion blur. This was among my favorites of the scores of pictures I took.
