SNOWY OWL AND RISING MOON

After a glorious afternoon photographing Snowy Owls along the Pacific Coast, a full moon rose over Gray’s Harbor, lit gloriously by the setting sun. At that point I instantly realized that I had an opportunity to get a once-in-a-lifetime photograph of the owl with the rising moon directly behind. I moved quickly to the right spot, and hand held the camera and telephoto lens for several exposures, before the moon went behind clouds. This was the great shot that resulted!
