IF POE WROTE OF CROWS
Crows are so familiar that we rarely give them a second glance, yet they are intelligent birds that always seem to be up to something. Crows can recognize individual human faces–and how many of us can recognize an individual crow's face?
When I took this photograph, I was hunting for birds in Seattle's Green Lake Park; well, not really hunting, except for my camera. The birds there are not tame by any stretch of the imagination, but they are accustomed to seeing a lot of people, and seem to get along with us just fine. The day I was there, the atmosphere was gray–just perfect for an ominous photograph of these three birds with a scrawny and bedraggled tree.
