WATER COLOR 39: Aquamarine Spear
After a long hike up a steep trail through the forest, the lakes of The Enchantments were a feast for the eye, with blue water and mountains contrasting with the brilliant yellow of the autumn Alpine Larches. For this photograph, I chose to photograph a detail of Leprechaun Lake, with wind rippling the surface, and each ripple catching a bit of the yellow-orange color of the larches. Most of the lake was shaded by conifers, but a wedge of aquamarine shows where the sun was shining from between the trees, illuminating the natural sunlit color of the lake.
