DISSOLVING IN THE BLIZZARDS OF TIME
Near our Michigan home, there are pine plantations planted decades ago by farmers and other landowners who envisioned harvesting the trees in the future. It was laudable that these people looked ahead into the distant future, when they probably wouldn’t still be here, but perhaps their descendants would. That is what conservation of the land is all about: keeping the land in good shape for generations to come.
When I took this picture, there was a heavy snowfall of big flakes that seemed to dissolve the historic forest into the mists of time.
