MYSTIC FOREST 4
The midwestern landscape in winter can be variously bleak or beautiful, depending upon the weather and the viewer’s mood. For this photograph, I had just started out on a photographic trip during a day when advection fog blanketed the snowy landscape. A hundred yards from where I started (my mother’s home at the time), I stopped the car, got out, and immediately took one of the best winter photographs I have ever taken. It is evocative of the mysteries always present in the landscape.
