CASCADING COLORS
As summer blends into fall, Virginia Creeper vines begin changing from green to lovely shades of orange and red. This vine was growing on a weathered old tourist cabin along a Canadian highway, next to where we had pitched a tent. This was one of those times when my eyes, subconsciously ever searching for photographs, found this detail. It speaks to me of the changing seasons, of course, but also of the often overlooked simple and elegant beauty of nature in unexpected places. It wasn’t as if I had to visit the Canadian Rockies or Yosemite to find a wonderful photograph.
