DEEP SNOW PASSAGE
Snowstorms and blizzards don’t keep the Amish at home. When they need to shop or visit a neighbor or take the children to school they load up the buggy pulled by a handsome black horse and set off for their destination. Everyone is bundled up in warm clothes and blankets, but they still end up with red cheeks. In the Amish community near us, the buggies are equipped with orange triangle reflectors for safety, and most use battery-operated lights when they must go out at night.
I found this setting enchanting, with the buggy out in heavily falling snow along a country road.
