THE GREAT GUM WALL
Legend has it that people stuck their chewing gum on the brick wall just prior to entering the Market Theatre near Seattle's Pike Place Market. The habit spread, and soon gum chewers were coming from near and far to add their spittle-laden gum to the wall. It became a phenomenon, and now people come from all over the world to see this disgusting place, which reeks with the scent of chewed gum.
I heard a mother say to her kids, "Do you know what is on that wall?" They both responded "GUM" and ran toward the wall with hands outstretched. The mother about fainted and shouted out not to touch because "the wall is germy!" Yes it is; and filled with DNA from all over the world. A kind of sick melting pot.
