A HORSE NAMED BLIZZARD
The Amish farms near us in Michigan depend on horses as partners for tilling, harvesting, and everyday transportation. The horses work hard, but they also enjoy a lot of time just being horses, interacting with others in their band and grazing in grassy pastures. Once in a while the urge comes to run hard, especially in winter when they don’t get as much exercise. I loved being able to capture this black horse galloping through falling snow.
