ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOME
This log cabin in the Canadian Rockies is a bit of heaven on earth. Built over 100 years ago, it has sheltered generations of hikers and artists; in fact, some of the best Canadian artists have done great work while staying in this cabin. I have stayed there three times; on each visit I loved coming back after a day of hiking and photography to the warmth and loveliness of the snug structure. And on two of those trips, Grizzly Bears have wandered by the cabin, though my timing was wrong and I didn’t get to see them.
