RAVEN SOARING
While visiting the canyons of the West, I always enjoy watching the birds navigating the wind currents along the rock faces. By tilting their wings and adjusting the tail feathers, these birds are masters of the sky. We have viewed hawks and condors and vultures and ravens–all masters of their domain.
For this photograph, I was watching a family of Common Ravens zooming over the sacred Navajo landscape, playing with the wind and exchanging triumphant cries.
