BACKWARD GLANCE
Theodore Roosevelt National Park is perhaps the first truly western place that people encounter when they travel west from the upper Midwest. There are badlands, inhabited by Bison, Elk, Mule Deer, White-tailed Deer, Pronghorns, and Prairie Dogs. There are also Coyotes, which I have seen on every trip there. For this photograph, I watched the Coyote going about its business and it mostly ignored me–except for this brief backward glance.
