READY FOR WORK

Open hopper cars waiting for work assignments in the waterfront freight yard of Superior, Wisconsin. These train cars load from the top and dump their cargo of iron ore or coal from the bottom. I photographed these because I have loved everything about trains since I was a child, and because railroads helped build America.
