ON THE WATERFRONT

Container cranes line the industrial waterfronts of cities all over the world. Working day and night, these cranes load and unload vessels that sail to ports far and wide. At this Seattle port, containers arrive and depart by semi-trucks and by trains for destinations all over America. I photographed this industrial scene from Seattle's ferry terminal; I love the lighting and the shapes of the cranes and all the frenetic activity.
