EMERGENCE

One of the wonders of spring is the graceful emergence of spring leaves. From a hard, tight bud that has survived a long winter, there is a sudden wake-up call to the tissue deep within. The bud breaks open, and those wonderful, intricate leaves unfurl and enlarge in a choreography that includes millions of leaves throughout the forest, dancing to the warming beat of spring.
