OCTOBER AURA
Seattle’s overcast skies may seem dreary, but they can also be the perfect backdrop for photographs. In this case I wanted to celebrate the vivid scarlet Japanese Maple leaves, contrasted with the dark branches and fuzzy mosses. Imagine if the sky had been a vivid blue: the lovely intricacy would be lost in the bright background. This treatment feels more like a haiku–spare by design and rich with meaning.
