GAZING INTO INFINITY ALONG THE PACIFIC COAST
Almost every year I return to Point of Arches and Shi Shi Beach along the Pacific Ocean coast for a strong dose of salt air, exploring tide pools, and seeing creatures such as Sea Otters and River Otters. Low tide is the time for seeing sea stars, sea anemones, nudibranchs, and other life forms that are otherwise hidden from us. On the way back from the tide pools, I like to photograph the sandy beach. I’ve found that wherever a big rock sits embedded in the sand, currents from wave movement create a pool of water surrounding the rock. In this one I loved the way the pool reflected the pattern of the clouds overhead.
