SHADOWFAX

While driving a rental car down through the beautiful lush farmland of central Michigan in September, the evening sunlight cast a strong shadow of the moving car. I asked the driver to open the window, then leaned across the seat and took a series of images that would emphasize the speed of the moving car, leaving all but the car shadow in a fast blur. This was the best of those photos. I named the photograph Shadowfax after the fast horse that Gandalf rode in The Lord of the Rings.
