ACT OF CREATION

I am fascinated by the tools artists use to create their work, but this was the first time I’ve photographed the colorful inks of a printer who was mixing colors to apply to paper. Every dip of a tool into a container of ink, every blend of blue and white with a touch of red, represents a conscious creative decision. In this photograph I chose just to show the intensity of color, out of the context of the artist’s final print, because I think it has aesthetic value in itself.

LIMITED EDITION: This photographic print is part of a limited edition produced by photographer Lee Rentz. The edition consists of 250 prints, which includes all sizes and methods of printing.
